The family of television host and weather anchor Kim “Kuya Kim” Atienza is in mourning following the sudden passing of his daughter, Emman Atienza.
In a statement released on Friday, the Atienza family confirmed Emman’s untimely death and asked the public to remember her by spreading compassion and kindness—virtues she was known to embody.
“It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman,” the family said. “She brought so much joy, laughter, and love to those who knew her. We invite everyone to honor her by showing compassion, courage, and a little extra kindness in your everyday life.”
Emman was the youngest daughter of Kuya Kim and his wife, Felicia Atienza. Described by friends as kind-hearted and sincere, she was loved for her cheerful spirit and gentle presence.
While the family did not reveal the cause of her death, they emphasized Emman’s advocacy for mental health awareness. Friends recalled how she comforted others and made people feel “seen and heard.”
“She was the type who would check on you when no one else did,” shared one classmate. “Even when she had her own struggles, she always made others smile.”
In their public message, the Atienzas urged everyone to continue Emman’s legacy of compassion.
“In her memory, we ask everyone to live with kindness and courage. Be gentle with yourselves and others,” the family said.
The heartfelt plea inspired an outpouring of tributes online. Social-media users began sharing her story with the hashtag #BeKindInHerMemory, turning grief into a collective message of hope and empathy.
Celebrities and friends also expressed condolences. Broadcaster Karen Davila said, “My heart goes out to Kim and his family. Losing a child is unimaginable. May they find peace and strength.” TV host Bianca Gonzalez added, “May Emman’s light continue to inspire kindness in others.”
Those close to Emman described her as artistic, compassionate, and full of life. She was known for her love of animals, music, and helping others without seeking attention.
“She made an impact through small acts of kindness,” said a family friend. “Her smile and empathy made people feel safe.”
Emman’s passing has sparked renewed discussions on the importance of mental-health awareness in the Philippines. Advocates encouraged the public to speak openly about emotional struggles and reach out for help.
Hotlines such as the National Mental Health Crisis Hotline (1553) and In Touch Community Services are available 24/7 for those in distress.
Legacy of Light
As messages of sympathy continue to pour in, the Atienza family expressed gratitude for the love and prayers they have received.
“Emman taught us that kindness heals,” they said. “Even in her absence, her light will guide us.”
In honoring Emman Atienza, her family’s message remains simple and powerful — choose kindness every day.
