MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has signed proclamations declaring special non-working holidays in five areas across the country to allow residents to celebrate their respective founding anniversaries and local festivals.
According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the special holidays will take effect on various dates in November 2025 and will cover the following areas:
-
Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya – November 20, in celebration of the municipality’s founding anniversary.
-
Palayan City, Nueva Ecija – November 20, in observance of the city’s thanksgiving festival for a bountiful harvest.
-
Itogon, Benguet – November 22, marking the town’s 125th founding anniversary.
-
Dasmariñas City, Cavite – November 26, in commemoration of the city’s founding anniversary.
-
Burgos, La Union – November 27, as the municipality celebrates its 100th founding anniversary.
Malacañang said the proclamations were issued to give residents the “full opportunity to participate in and enjoy the occasion,” noting that these are special non-working days limited to their respective localities.
The proclamations were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin by the authority of President Marcos Jr.
Such declarations are customary for cities and municipalities marking important milestones, allowing communities to hold cultural, civic, and historical activities without affecting national operations.
